Finally, We have some HUGE News in regards to our future direction:

The executive of BCC and Team BTG are stoked to share some exciting information with you.

Over the winter months we have been working together to develop innovative partnerships so we can achieve shared objectives and invest in the future of cycling in our community.

With a renewed vision and leadership, we are pleased to communicate that BCC and BTG are working together to integrate the two Clubs as one. While we continue to work on the timelines, this transition will be of great benefit to the cycling community in Simcoe County.

As you know, the focus for both clubs has been to increase youth participation, community awareness and cycling opportunities for all. By increasing awareness of the sport it is our objective to personify the health and character building attributes that cycling can bring in our community. We are building the culture of the sport through a structured approach, linking fitness, sportsmanship, discipline, fortitude, humility, leadership, and strength of character.

We also intend to provide awareness and support for cycling by helping local athletes’ progress through the sport of cycling from grassroots participation through to the elite level Provincially and Nationally.

Our efforts to date have resulted in being named the Ontario Cycling Associations first “Youth Certified Club” and the creation of Team Centurion Development Canada consisting of young riders from both clubs.

Over the season you’ll see the Blue / Red of Team CDC, Blue / Black of BTG, and the Blue / Yellow of BCC on the roads and trails together.

Scheduled club rides are posted online and members of both clubs are welcome to attend any or all, we really look forward to growing the size of our rides & events through this partnership.

If you have any input, comments, or questions, please don’t hesitate to contact myself, or Kelly-Anne. It’s going to be a great season, I look forward to seeing all of you on your bikes!

Yours in Sport,

Barrie Cycling Club

NEW DATE!!!Club Social night, Jan 11 @ Pie Wood Pizza!

Comments Off 30 December 2010

Wow, where has the time gone?

I hope that each of you has had a wonderful holiday spent with family and loved ones.

As we enter into a new year, we thought it would be a great time to get together, reflect on the season we’ve had, dream of the season to come. Order some club clothing, and enjoy some delicious wood fired pizza.

So, we’re going to have a Club Pizza/Social night on Tuesday January 11th beginning around 6:30, or 7pm, whenever you can arrive!

Our friends at Pie have offered to feed us all night long, for a flat rate of $15/person not including beverages. I think this is a pretty great deal, and intend on eating my fair share! ;)

I hope to see logs of you there, feel free to shoot me an email to let us know you’re coming, so we have some idea of numbers beforehand.

Wishing all of you happiness, success & luck in 2011, see you then!

cheers,
robb
